Count To Ten is my fourth studio album but only my second international release after the "debut" In The Red.
Whereas In The Red was produced by Chris Potter, best known for The Verves "Urban Hymns", this time I decided to self-produce together with my long-term musical buddy / multi-instrumentalist / guitarist in my band, Dennis Ahlgren. Dennis and I produced my first two studio albums, Fuel and Notes, and for Count To Ten it felt natural to go back to this way of working.

We started out in Danish Radio's legendary Studio 3. I had won a radio award in 2006 and part of the prize was 2 weeks in Studio 3 so we got the good-ol' band together and started work in January 2007. After the first two weeks, Dennis and I took the files to hometown Århus and over the next couple of months we worked pretty much on our own to finish the album.

It wasn't an easy album to make. I always have a pretty clear idea of the finished sound of a song when I'm writing it but usually it's a terrible struggle for me to actually create that sound or vibe when it comes down to recording. The music always takes on a life of its own and it never works out quite like you plan it - which is mostly a beautiful thing! Dennis is a great partner because he knows me so well and he's very spontaneous and intutive.

It feels like my most personal album so far, probably also because of the very introvert, nervewrecking process of creating it. This time there were no industry people on the sideline to guide and advice. It was just me and Dennis and our own ambitions and intuitions....

You can watch an introdution to Count To Ten under "Video" / "Count To Ten".

Count To Ten was voted "Best Album of 2007" by the readers of the biggest Danish music mag, Gaffa. Also "Best Female"...
It's nominated for "Best Album", "Best Pop Album", "Best Songwriter" and "Best Singer" at the Danish Music Awards this year.
